DIRECTORATE OF WATER DEVELOPMENT
This directorate provides sustainable, climate-resilient engineering and infrastructural
water solutions designed to secure domestic water access and agricultural productivity
in water-scarce regions.

• Community Water Projects: Manages the engineering, installation, and community
• led maintenance of clean domestic water systems, including high-yield boreholes, sand
• dams, rock catchments, and solar-powered water reticulation networks.
• Community Irrigation Projects: Focuses on agricultural engineering interventions,
• establishing high-efficiency drip-irrigation systems, floodwater harvesting structures
• and training community-based Water Pan/User Associations to ensure equitable water
• distribution and long-term infrastructural sustainability.
