This directorate drives landscape restoration, climate change mitigation, and the
establishment of self-sustaining green enterprises through circular economy principles.
Environmental Conservation & Forestry: Reverses desertification and soil erosion by
spearheading dryland afforestation, riverbank protection, watershed management, and
training communities in Farmer-Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR).
Waste Management & Resource Recovery: Designs and deploys localized, fee
based household waste collection services and Material Recovery Facilities (MRFs)
that sort, process, and upcycle municipal and organic waste into commercial bi
products like organic compost and safe animal feed additives.
Climate-Smart Energy & Carbon Projects: Develops eco-friendly thermal alternatives
to curb deforestation, utilizing specialized mobile biochar kilns to process agricultural
residues into soil enhancers while tracking data for future verified carbon-offset
initiatives.
